About Highland Fitness and Wellness

We founded Highland Fitness and Wellness with a clear mission: to create a gym that offers a comprehensive approach to health and fitness for everyone. As both of us are academics who value ongoing learning, we wanted to combine evidence-based exercise science in a multidisciplinary approach to personal training and help individuals achieve their fitness goals using various methods. Additionally, we envisioned our gym as a vital "third place" in the community. We wanted to provide the Highland Creek neighbourhood, Scarborough, Durham, and the surrounding area a space for individuals to form new connections and socialize outside their work and home environments.

At Highland Fitness and Wellness, we have fostered a personalized atmosphere while creating an environment where individuals can interact, get to know each other, and build new relationships. Our gym is not just a place to work out but a community where you can connect with others who share a fitness journey.

Our Gym

Our gym is located in the Highland Creek neighbourhood of Scarborough. We proudly offer personal training, small group fitness training, and specialty fitness classes such as boxing, high-performance athlete group training, Senior Fitness, and Pilates. Our air-conditioned facility provides free parking and changing facilities. We are also an AODA-compliant space with an accessible washroom and entryway. Additionally, we offer a range of tools, including free weights, cable machines, cardio equipment, mobility and flexibility training tools, a designated group fitness area, various classes, and a supportive network of allied health practitioners.
