Health Coaching
Beginning Your Fitness Journey
You know something needs to change. It feels overwhelming. You want to lose weight or change your body shape. You see changes in your body that you aren’t happy about. Maybe you feel your arms are flabby, or your face and chin seem too full. Maybe your pants feel tight. There may be stubborn weight on your belly or midsection. Maybe food or drink has been a way of comforting or treating yourself, or maybe it has become mindless or distracted and leaves you feeling bad. Perhaps you think your energy level isn’t what it was or that you could improve your thinking. Possibly, there is a health condition that you live with or a family history of illness that you hope to avoid. It could be that your balance feels off or your energy is low. Maybe sleep is disrupted.
Do you find yourself saying:
"I just figured I'm not getting results, and I need to do more.”
”I need to walk or run more, or I need to work out more.”
”I need to pay more attention to what I eat.”
”I need to consume less wine.”
”I need not to stress out more.
”I need to sleep more.”
“Where do I start?”
Let’s start with you. You are an individual. You are not the same as anyone else. Sure, you may have similarities to others but…
Your goals and priorities are yours alone. Your life may be impacted by others in it but take away “should” for a minute.
What do you want? Your goals are uniquely personal to you and valid.
Are you ready, willing, and able to undertake changes to achieve your personal goals?
As an adult, you can choose how much and what type of activity you do.
Yes, it must be balanced with time, resources, dealing with external (to you) demands, schedules, your relationships, the roles you have, etc., but ultimately, you still get to choose what you do to move your body and what you put in your mouth.
Every change starts with a vision of what you want to happen. Getting clear on your goals and priorities is a must, and it is worth it to take the time (a quiet hour in your week to do some thinking and make notes to guide you in getting clear about what you want. From here, we can build a holistic fitness routine that fits your life, goals, and realities.
This is what the coaching process can do. It is not advice or therapy. It is a process of working with you, listening to your thoughts, reflecting on things back to you, and asking questions. This leads to your own realization of what is possible, what you want, what is realistic, and what plans you can put in place to meet your goals. It is a collaboration with you to fund solutions.
We can help you with this process, and we will work with our associate Judi Cummings, a certified health coach, to put all these pieces together.
